Emergency Planning - Training and Exercises page

Welcome:-  Government and world reports below

A) Why Train?

Clergy and members of the Diocese are invited to attend a variety of interagency, emergency planning exercises and events, in order to enhance and update our skills and knowledge in a changing world.

The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 provides a fresh opportunity for all agencies to work together and so provide the optimum service to our communities at a time of crisis.

 Shared training ensures that

  • Our awareness of other agencies and the issues we are facing together, keeps pace with contempory events.
  • Our own agency plans and procedures are tested and reviewed
  • Our organisational structures are able to respond to a major and sustained crisis.
  • Our staff and members develop, practise and pass on the acquired emergency skills and knowledge to the Diocese and to our communities.
  • Our awareness of national developments in emergency planning and practise are enhanced and shared.
