Church members sign-up for security training
Church members across Nottinghamshire are being encouraged to take part in seminars on church security later this month, when they will learn about CCTV, alarms and even personal safety.
The Security seminars on Thursday 14th June will run from 10.30-3.30pm, with a condensed version in the evening from 7-9pm, at the Minster Centre in Southwell.
A leading authority on safety in places of worship, Nick Tolson, of National Churchwatch, will lead the seminars, which will include sessions on physical security – alarms and CCTV; managing church regulations and personal safety, for example, dealing with confrontation and self rescue techniques.
Organiser, Kathryn Anderson, said: “The seminars will be informative and entertaining and would be invaluable for anyone involved in opening up their church to the public.”
Each Seminar costs £5 per person and places can be booked through Kathryn Anderson tel 01636 817286 or email marketing@southwellminster.org.uk
